Gas Prices Could Continue to Rise

As we head into the Memorial Day weekend and the official kickoff to summer next weekend don’t expect gas prices to make your travels cheaper…according to AAA, they say that gas prices could continue to climb…saying that we could see prices for Memorial Day that we haven’t seen since high prices in 2014. AAA predicts that we could see a state average of $3.45 a gallon for the holiday…right now the state average is just over $2.90 per gallon. AAA says that prices were already climbing and heading towards over $3 a gallon…but the pipeline incident got those prices higher faster. Prices here in Cocke County right now are averaging around $2.85 a gallon….the nationwide average right now is $3.04.
