Greene County Homicide Development…Killing Was Premeditated
New developments in that double homicide in Greene County. According to Greene County Juvenile Court the 16 year old suspect who is accused in the killing of 59 year old Sherry Cole and her 7 year old grandson Jesse Allen, planned the killing. In one of the two juvenile petitions from the court the 16 year old “admitted to hitting the victim in the head multiple times with a hammer,” He also stated he began “planning to kill the victim earlier the same afternoon”. According to document filings by District Attorney General Dan Armstrong, both victims were found with blunt force trauma to the head. Armstrong says the act was intentional and premeditated. He has asked the court to transfer the case from juvenile court to adult court. A judge has put a temporary gag order on the case for now until the juvenile suspect appears in a hearing on May 12th. Armstrong says the juvenile if transferred to adult court could be charged with two counts of first degree murder. The harshest sentence the 16 year old could get is life in prison without the possibility of parole. The state of Tennessee does not execute those who are still a juvenile.
