Last Sullivan County Jail Escapee Captured In NC
The last of three escaped inmates from Sullivan County is now in custody. The TBI announced late Thursday night that Johnny Brown had been taken into custody Thursday by US Marshals and North Carolina authorities. Brown was apprehended in Wilmington, NC. The 50 year old Brown had escaped the Suillivan County jail through an HVAC vent last Friday morning, although Sullivan County authorities say the three may have escaped late Thursday night, February 3. The other two escapees were killed in a car crash near Wilmington, NC on Tuesday. The two, Tobias Carr and Timothy Sarver, had robbed a convenience store and then led North Carolina police on a chase through 4 counties. Johnny Brown had been in jail on several charges including harassment, violation of order of protection, domestic assault and aggravated stalking. He will be extradited back to Tennessee.
