Major Highway Closure This Weekend In Cocke County

Your traffic plans may be affected this weekend by road construction. US 25E will be closed to all traffic beginning at 7pm Friday night , 3/21. The closure will be between Lehigh Road and Hilltop Drive. Crews will be installing a culvert under the highway this weekend. TDOT says they hope to have US 25E reopened by no later than 6am Monday morning, 3/24.

Signs will be up alerting motorists to a detour. If you are in Newport and have to go to Morristown or White Pine this weekend, your best route to White Pine is to take I-40 West to Exit 424, Highway 113. If you are going to Morristown, take I-40 west to I-81 north and take either exit 4 or exit 8 to go to Morristown.
