Man Arrested For Stealing Electricity

A man was arrested over the weekend in Cocke County for stealing electricity. Deputies responded to a home on east Hwy 25/70…Kyle Ramsey told police he was weed eating on his property and noticed an electrical extension cord running out of his shed and to a property down below his own. The door to the building had been locked and no trespassing signs were posted on the shed. Deputes found the extension cord was being used by 28 year old Andrew Adams. He was taken into custody and charged with burglary, criminal trespass and theft of services. Ramsey stated he was checking with Newport Utilities to find out how much electricity had been stolen.
