Motel 6 In Newport Vandalized

Newport police were dispatched to Motel 6 in Newport on Thursday May 18. One of their rooms had been vandalized. Motel management stated that a man named Joshua Garrett of Hot Springs, NC had checked into room 215 at about 6pm Wednesday, May 17. Garrett then checked out at 10:15pm that same night. When cleaning staff entered the room Thursday morning, they found the room had been trashed. They reported damage to a mirror, the window, tv, the sink and bed sheets. Total damage to the room was estimated at over $1,000.
