Newport City Park To Expand

Thanks to the Newport City Council’s action last night the city of Newport will soon have a bigger City Park. Last night at the council’s monthly meeting council members voted to approve the purchase of the Woodland Park property that adjoins the current city park. This will expand the current Newport City park with a 93 acre area for hiking, biking and also more picnic areas. The city will use Covid funds to purchase the property and expand the Newport City Park.
