Newport Police Padlock House

Newport police have closed and padlocked a house after being the site of much drug activity. The Cocke County Court had ordered the home at 147 Northside Avenue be padlocked for being a public nuisance. When police cleared the house last week, they found 17 people and 3 dogs on the property. All the individuals found on the property were informed that they were not permitted to come back. Police have had numerous complaints about that house, making over 20 arrests there. There have also been four overdose deaths related to that property.
