Rafting In The Smokies Has Unwanted Visitor
The owner of Rafting In the Smokies in Hartford called to police around midnight Friday morning. An intoxicated man was sleeping on their property. The owner stated that 42 year old Dewey Case was possibly sleeping on the business’s back porch after being kicked off one of the rafting company’s buses for sleeping in it. The manager said that has been an ongoing issue with Case. Deputy Richard Hoover spotted Dewey Case walking in the middle of the roadway on Hartford Road in front of Rafting in the Smokies. He smelled strongly of alcohol and could hardly stand. He was transported to the Cocke County jail and charged with public intoxication.
