Sevierville Murder Suspect Arrested In Knoxville
Sevierville police have arrested and charged a man with his girlfriend’s murder. Police originally received a call around 2:20am Thursday from someone in the Grassy Meadows neighborhood who reported hearing a gunshot. Officers canvassed that neighborhood, interviewing two people, but did not find anything. Around 8 a.m., dispatchers received another call, this one from a co-worker of the victim, who said she tried to contact 38-year-old Gladys Gutierrez at her home after she didn’t show up for work. Police made entry into the home where they found the victim deceased. Police say there were several children and an adult home when they made access. The victim’s boyfriend, 40 year old Luis Mora was named a person of interest and police put out a be on the lookout order to neighboring law enforcement agencies. Mora was spotted by police in Knoxville near Ray Mears Blvd. later in the day on Thursday. He was taken into custody and Sevierville police say they are charging him with first degree murder. That investigation is ongoing.
