TVA Fuel Cost Adjustment To Continue
During the summer we told you about TVA’s Fuel Cost Adjustment, which adds more money to your utility bill. The TVA, who sells power to local utilities like Newport Utilities, uses the fuel cost adjustment (FCA) to help recover fuel and purchased power costs they incur each month. In this case, fuel refers to what generated electricity – whether nuclear, natural gas or coal. The fuel cost adjustment is passed along to consumers as part of your utility bill. Get prepared to continue paying that each month, According to Newport Utility General Manager Michael Williford, the TVA is expected to keep the fuel cost adjustment high for the foreseeable future. Williford made that announcement Wednesday morning during the Newport Utility Board’s monthly meeting. The next NUB meeting will be October 25th.
