Two Arrested Aggravated Burglary

Two men were arrested in Newport after they broke into a home over the weekend. The two had been spotted wearing camouflage clothing and had their faces covered when they were seen breaking into the home on Gregg’s Lane by prying the back door of the residence open with a large knife. The two also had cut a Master Lock of the shed in the backyard. The two fled from the scene as police arrived, dropping a jewelry box and other items in the backyard. One of the two men, 34 year old Michael Ellison surrendered to police quickly. The other, 26 year old Joshua Pittenturf was caught a short time later on 9th Street. Both are charged with Aggravated Burglary and Evading Arrest.
