Two Women Arrested On Drug Charges

Two women are in jail after being arrested on numerous drug charges Monday. Police were called about a vehicle in the Newport Town Center parking lot with two women inside and narcotics in full view. 37 year old Ashley Huff and 34 year old Heather Burchfield were found in the car. When both women exited the car, drug paraphernalia was seen. A search of the car found a silver makeup bag that contained over 7 grams of heroin, 1.8 grams of methamphetamine plus Oxycodone and Alprazolam pills. Numerous baggies used to package illegal narcotics was found, along with several cell phones consistent with drug sales. Both women now face at least six illegal narcotics charges and Huff also faces a charge of introduction into a penal facility as she was found at the jail hiding more drugs in her bra.
