Wal-Mart Shoplifter Arrested

Police were called to the Newport Wal-Mart Sunday night about a shoplifter. The loss prevention officer stated that he had watched 31 year old Billy McMahan come into Wal-Mart with an unknown male subject…that person was wearing a Scream shirt, shorts, hat and a Covid mask. Loss prevention says they had seen McMahan over a period of time bring different people into the Wal-Mart to shoplift. This time McMahan and his cohort loaded a $350 mini fridge into a cart and walked out the door washout paying. The two were seen getting into McMahan’s spray painted black Chevrolet. Wal-Mart wished to prosecute and a warrant was sworn out for McMahan’s arrest. Shortly after midnight McMahan was found at his home on Greystone Way and was placed into custody…charged with theft under $1,000.
