Woman Arrested For Illegal Drug Sales

Cocke County deputies arrested another woman over the weekend for illegal drug sales. A GMC Yukon with expired tags was observed traveling westbound on Hwy 25/70 near old route 411 Saturday afternoon. A traffic stop was made and deputies found 35 year old Heather Lynn Jones inside. She stated she knew the wrong tags were on the vehicle as her original tags had been stolen. Jones appeared to be under the influence of a narcotic, so deputies searched the vehicle. Inside that GMC Yukon deputies found approximately 5 grams of heroin and fentanyl in the center console plus 1 gram of meth. A black handback in the driver’s seat was found to contain $683 in cash…that money thought to be the proceeds from illegal drug sales. Heather Jones was taken into custody charged with possession of schedule I & II narcotics.
