Wrongway Driver Arrested In Jefferson County
A Michigan man was arrested in Jefferson County Monday morning after he was caught driving the wrong way on Interstate 40. Deputies were alerted to a man driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of the interstate just before 4am at mile marker 419. A Jefferson County deputy spotted the vehicle at mile marker 415 and attempted to stop the vehicle but it did not stop. Finally around mile marker 412, another deputy performed a pursuit tactic, where he struck the vehicle with his partrol car, spinning that vehicle around and finally bringing it to a stop. The driver was 33 year old Deandre Lloyd of Detroit. He is now facing a long list of charges including evading arrest, possession of schedule II & IV drugs for resale, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and DUI.
