18 Year Old Injured By Explosive Device

An 18 year old has been injured in Jefferson County after they tried to blow up a tree stump. Jefferson County deputies were dispatched to a location on west Highway 25/70 about someone being hurt by an explosive device. Deputies found 18 year old Nathaniel Evans with flash burns on his face and arms. Evans told deputies he had made the improvised explosive device from gunpowder in order to blow up a tree stump located on the property. The man was transported to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office is investigating that case.
