9-1-1 Operators Celebrated This Week
This week, the nation is saluting those who answer the phone when you call 9-1-1. This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators week. It is dedicated to recognize the efforts of the men and women who work long hours at a very stressful job, getting the information about your emergency to the police and fire departments. They make sure that the officers and firefighters have all the information they need to handke your emergency when you call 9-1-1. National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week was first observed in 1981 and runs all this week through Saturday, April 15.
