Cause Of Fire That Took The Lives Of 2 Children Released
Sevier County officials have released the cause of a fire last month that took the lives of two children. That fire broke out on the morning of December 30 near South Flat Creek Road, which is near English Mountain. 15 year-old Esperanza Gutierrez and eight-year-old Mateo Gutierrez perished in that fire. According to family, Esperanza Gutierrez had gotten several family members out of the house but had gone back in to save eight year old Mateo. Officials say the fire was caused by a propane heater. The Sevier County sheriff’s Office, the Sevier County Fire Marshal’s Office and the TBI investigated that deadly fire.
