Over $1,000 Merchandise Stolen From Wal-Mart

Newport police are looking for two suspects who stole over $1,000 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart on Saturday. Loss prevention at Wal-Mart says two unknown males entered the store around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning, and loaded miscellaneous electronics and vehicle accessories into a shopping cart. Those items included a Lenovo IdeaCentre 3i touchscreen all in one Desktop, valued at $699 and a pulsar 2300-Watt gasoline powered inverter generator which was priced at nearly $400. The two men then left their cart in the Lawn & Garden area, walked out of the store and pulled their vehicle up to the Lawn & Garden entrance. The two men then forced the Lawn & Garden doors open, grabbed the cart they had left inside and loaded the items into their car. The two men were seen exiting the parking lot around 8 am. The total the men got away with was $1,148.00. The suspects have yet to be identified.
