Local Law Enforcement Wraps Up Busy May

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office completed a busy month of May. According to the Sheriff’s office they handled almost 28 calls per shift in the month of May…and the Sheriff’s department made 13 drug arrests during May where they confiscated over 81 grams of meth….5 grams of crack…20 grams of heroin…and then seized over $9,000 in cash during those drug arrests during the month of May.

You might recall last week the Newport police department made that major drug bust seizing over 140 grams of heroin and 150 grams of cocaine…plus $7000 in cash.

So congratulations on a job well done by both the Cocke County Sheriff’s office and the Newport police department on ajob well done during the month of May.
