Lady Vols Begin Stretch Run With Win
The Tennessee Lady Vols began the final stretch of the regular season by dominating the Auburn Tigers in Knoxville last night. Kim Caldwell’s Lady Vols came out slow allowing Auburn to take an early five point lead, but once the game headed to the second quarter Tennessee never slowed down. The Lady Vols had five players finish in double figures. Jewel Spear led the way with 17 points. Ruby Whitehorn poured in 15 more. Zee Spearman, Kaniya Boyd and Talaysia Cooper also finished with 10 or more points. The Lady Vols hit 50% of their three point shots going 14 of 28 on their way to a 99-61 win. Tennessee improves to 18-6 overall and 5-6 in the SEC. Next up, the Lady Vols will host Ole Miss Sunday at noon.
