2 Arrested On Drug Charges

Two women were arrested last week and one now faces drug charges. Cocke County deputies went to a residence on Jimtown Road in an attempt to serve an indictment on 37 year old Alisha Arrington. As deputies arrived, Arrington tried to flee into some nearby woods, but was apprehended quickly. In a black pouch hanging around her neck were two clear baggies containing what was believed to be heroin, plus $346 in cash. Inside the residence, deputies located 38 year old Ashley Mayfield, aka Ashley Frazier, who was wanted on warrants and had felony convictions over a decade earlier for forgery and theft. On a couch in the residence, deputies found a loaded Kel-Tec 9mm handgun. Arrington is being charged with possession of schedule I for the heroin, plus evading arrest. Mayfield is charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
