CCSO Recovers Stolen Vehicle

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Department recovered a stolen vehicle from North Carolina over the weekend. A homeowner on Green Corner Road, Hartford called 911 and stated that a man had a 1997 Ford F-150 pickup in the roadway and had come to his house asking for help. The homeowner told sheriff’s deputies that the man was wearing camouflage pants and a tan shirt, black hat and had on a red and black back pack. A man fitting that description was spotted by North Carolina authorities walking along I-40. The man was identified as 33 year old Victor Connor of Waynesville, NC. Connor was transported back to Hartford, and the sheriff’s office learned the Ford F-150 had been stolen out of Waynesville. Connor was taken into custody for theft over $1,000. The truck’s owner was contacted and told where he could pick up his truck.
