CCSO Warns Of Fake Facebook Post

Another fake Facebook post concerning law enforcement has surfaced. The Cocke County Sheriff’s office says these fake Facebook posts are used by scammers to try to tie up law enforcement agencies. This scam Facebook post claims that a female police officer named Katie Cunningham is missing and asks the public to share that post. Sometimes these Facebook posts will try to collect personal information from potential victims, but their main goal is to tie up law enforcement resources. The Cocke County Sheriff’s office says if this story were real, it would be posted by law enforcement agencies and not an individual.
