Gas Prices Remain Steady For Memorial Day Weekend

The average price in Newport is $2.65. Overall Cocke County is at $2.71. Hamblen County is $2.69, Sevier County is at $2.70. Jefferson County is a little cheaper at $2.63, but the cheapest prices in the area are still in Greene County with an average price of $2.60. The cheapest price in Tennessee remains way out west in Henry County at $2.51. Williamson County remains the highest at $3.25.
If you will be traveling out of state, gas up before you leave Tennessee. Gas is higher in all of the neighboring states. North Carolina and Kentucky are $2.87 and $2.86. Gas is higher in Virginia at $2.98 and Georgia is $2.91. Of the states that surround Tennessee, Mississippi remains the cheapest at $2.66, which is the lowest in the nation. California remains the highest price in the nation at $4.89. The national average is $3.17.
