Parkway In Gatlinburg Closed After Report Of Suspicious Package

For the second time in three days, the Parkway was closed in downtown Gatlinburg. Traffic in the 700 block of the Parkway was re-routed Tuesday night around 8:45pm after a suspicious package was reported. The Gatlinburg Police Department along with Sevierville and Pigeon Forge Police Departments and the Sevier County Sheriff’s office all responded to the scene. The Parkway reopened around 10pm after no suspicious package was found.

The parkway was also closed for about 6 1/2 hours Sunday night after a crash between stoplights 6 & 8 injured seven people. Three of those individuals were airlifted to the UT Medical Center in Knoxville.
