Motorhome Fire Close I-81 South Saturday

Interstate 81 south was turned into a parking lot Saturday afternoon in Hamblen County. This after a motorhome caught on fire while driving on the interstate. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the motorhome was being driven in the southbound lane near the Fish Hatchery Road exit, which is Exit 15. Just before 11:30am, the driver of the motorhome tried to go around another vehicle when the motorhome caught fire. The driver was able to get the motorhome pulled over to the shoulder of the road, but both the motorhome and Ford Bronco, that was in tow, suffered heavy damage. The southbound lanes were shutdown on the interstate till just after 3pm. No injuries were reported.
