Another Arrest On Sunday
One person was arrested Sunday in Newport after they were spotted leaving a residence known for illegal drug activity. Police observed a man and woman leaving the home on Locust Avenue just after midnight Sunday morning. The officer cut the vehicle off at the intersection of Jasmine Drive and Cross Rd. The male subject that was in the car had exited, but the female, who was driving, was still inside. She was identified as 62 year old Tracy Ellison. With her in the vehicle were two zipped makeup bags, that are consistent with the use of narcotics. Inside one of the makeup bags was a smaller bag containing 2 clear baggies and a blue baggie. All had a white crystal residue believed to be methamphetamine. 3 glass pipes used for inhalation of illegal narcotics were also found.
Ellison was charged with simple possession and unlawful drug paraphernalia. She told police that 56 year old Joey Arrowood was the man who fled from her vehicle. She stated that he ran due to being wanted for probation violation. He remains at large.
