Cocke County December Murder Suspect Now In Custody

Back in December, the Cocke County Sheriff’s office was called to a residence on Arlis Road in Newport in regards to a homicide. The deceased was 52 year old Lisa Lynn Goode who had been stabbed to death. A lenghty investigation followed and that investigation culiminated with the indictment of 24 year old Zoe Lynn Knight for first degree murder. Last week, Knight was arrested in North Carolina and on Friday, he was extradited back to Newport by Cocke County authorities. Knight was taken to the Cocke County Detention Center and his bond was set at $1 million. Sheriff CJ Ball issued a statement thanking Detective Katrina Baldwin and the detective division for their work that led to Knight’s arrest.
