Two UT Athletes Arrested In Different Incidents
Turbulence on Rocky Top as two Tennessee athletes were arrested on Friday. First, The Lady Vols basketball player Ruby Whitehorn was arrested Friday afternoon after an altercation in North Knox County. According to police, Whitehorn and the victim got into a fight that turned physical. The victim grabbed her phone and ran into home and locked the door. Whitehorn then kicked in the front door and chased the victim to an upstairs bedroom. The victim closed and locked the bedroom door, but Whitehorn kicked that door in as well and broke a mirror in the bedroom. Whitehorn claims that the victim took her cellphone and passport. Whitehorn is being charged with Domestic Assault and Aggravated Burglary.
Then Friday night, Tennessee Vols wide receiver Chris Brazzell was arrested after speeding on Chapman Highway. Brazzell was going 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. When he was pulled over, he was found to be driving on a suspended drivers license. That suspension is due to missing a court appearance in Blount County last year. Brazzell was then taken into custody. The University of Tennessee Athletic Department says they are aware of both arrests and are gathering more information before making any comment.
