Tractor Trailer Rear Ends School Bus In Hamblen County
The truck driver that ran into the back of a school bus Monday morning in Hamblen County is facing charges. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says that the bus was stopped on Hwy 25E just north of the intersection with Andrew Johnson Hwy to pick up a student. The report says that even though the bus had its warning lights and stop sign activated, the driver of a tractor trailer slammed into the back of the bus. 40-year-old Brandon McCary is now charged with reckless driving, overtaking a stopped school bus and failure to exercise due care.
Both the driver of the bus and the driver of the tractor trailer suffered minor injuries. The truck that hit the school bus was hauling lumber.
