Missing Man in GSMNP Found Deceased

The search is over for a missing man in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. 21 year old Ryan Lakes had last been seen in Nashville on Thursday, September 18. His car had been found in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Saturday. His car was in the parking lot for the Big Creek Park Ranger Station, which is just over the Cocke County line on the North Carolina side of the park. The national park service had announced that Ryan Lakes was found dead in the park on Sunday afternoon. No details about his death have been released. The Cocke County Sheriff’s office and the Haywood County, NC sheriff office assisted in that search for Ryan Lakes.
