Gas Prices Falling
Gas prices have been falling over the past couple of weeks. As of this morning (10/29) in Cocke County, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.54. That is one of the lowest average prices in this area.
The lowest is Greene County at $2.49. Hamblen County is at $2.59 while Jefferson County’s average price is $2.61. Sevier Coutny average is $2.64, but prices are much cheaper in the eastern part of the county.
The average price for gas statewide sits at $2.66 as of this morning. The lowest average price is way out west in Henry County at $2.44. The highest statewide is in Williamson County at $3.05. That is the only county in the state with gas above $3 a gallon. The highest gas prices in East Tennessee are in Knox, Hancock and Johnson counties at $2.65.
The nationwide average is still over $3 at $3.03. Oklahoma and Mississippi have the lowest average prices at $2.59. The highest….California at $4.57 followed by Hawaii at $4.48 and Washington state at $4.31. Those are the only states in the nation that have an average gas price above $4 a gallon.
