Vols Fan Face Late Night

Get ready for a long night tonight, if you want to watch the Tennessee Vols in the Sweet 16. Tip-off for tonight’s game is tentatively set for 10:10pm. The game tips off 45 minutes after the conclusion of the Alabama/Michigan game.

Tennessee takes on #2 seed Iowa State tonight. The Cyclones offense will put the Vols defense to the test. Ja’Kobi Gillespie has led the Vols so far with 50 points in the two previous games, but he will need help as Iowa State will try to shut him down with three-time All-Big 12 defensive player Tamin Lipsey. Iowa State totally dismantled Kentucky last weekend to get to the Sweet 16 while Tennessee upset #3 Virginia. The winner of tonioght’s game will face the winner of Alabama and Michigan Sunday in the Midwest regional final. The game tonight will be televised on TBS.

By the way, Alabama and Tennessee are the only teams left from the SEC in the tournament. Texas lost a dandy of a game Thursday night to Purdue, 79-77. Arkansas watched their Final Four hopes disappear at the hands of Arizona, 109-88.

The Elite Eight matchups for Saturday feature three Big 10 teams. In the South Regional final, Iowa will face Illinois, who upset Houston last night. In the West Regional Final, Purdue takes on Arizona.
