Cocke County School System To Seek Afterschool Grant

The Cocke County School System has announced they are applying for a Lottery For Education Afterschool Programs Grant regarding three elementary schools in the county, Del Rio, Grassy Fork and Smoky Mountain. The grant money will provide extended learning opportunitues for those three schools in reading and language arts, plus math. The afterschool programs would provide help with homework and tutoring of students. The Cocke County School System says the afterschool programs would compliment the regular education program at those schools along withj offering enrishment activities that support student learning.

Public comments can be made by sending them to Kathy Holt at holtk@cocke.k12.tn.us. The deadline for public comments is Thursday, April 9.
