Tri-Cities Man Sentenced For Drug Trafficking
A Tri-Cities man, formerly from Chattanooga, has been sentenced for drug trafficking. Back in October of 2024, police in Greeneville attempted a traffic stop, but 27 year old Aaron Tyshawn Jackson, a passenger in that vehicle, told the driver to not stop. A police pursuit ensued with speeds getting up to 120mph. That pursuit ended when the vehicle Jackson was in crashed. But during the pursuit, Jackson threw a duffel bag out of the window. Inside that duffel bag, police found over 2.7 kilograms of methamphetamine and 11 ounces of fentanyl. The drugs had been purchased in Chattanooga for distribution in East Tennessee.
Back in February, a federal jury convicted Jackson of conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl and conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine. On Wednesday, a federal judge in Greeneville sentenced Jackson to 288 months in prison, which equals out to 24 years behind bars. When released, Jackson will then be on supervised release for 10 more years.
