Covid Cases Continue Slow Decline
Covid numbers continued on the decline through the first two weeks of October. For the period running from October 1-14th…in Cocke County there were 300 cases of Covid reported with 1 death. 152 new cases were reported over the last week. Elsewhere…Greene County reported 704 cases for the 2 weeks…with 20 deaths reported. Greene County continues to be the hardest hit for Covid. Hamblen County was down to less than 300 cases over the last 2 weeks with 298…4 deaths reported. Jefferson County 280 cases with 6 deaths and Sevier County was down to 601 cases but they did report 13 deaths for the 2 week period. Overall in the state of Tennessee, there were 31, 649 cases reported for the 2 week period with 610 deaths….that is 1.9% of all cases…which is right in line with the normal 98-99% survivability rate associated with Covid.
