Newport Woman Arrested In Parrottsville On Drug Charges

Cocke County police made a traffic stop on Hwy 321 in Parrottsville Monday afternoon. The driver of the vehicle was Curt Huff and the passenger was 32 year old Chlorissa Sartain of Newport. She told the deputy that Huff was someone she did not know but he had picked her up at the airport at the request of a friend of hers. Chlorissa Sartain was taken back to the patrol car where the deputy made sure she was safe and not in danger. Curt Huff then gave the deputy the okay to search his vehicle. That search yielded a crystal like rocks thought to be methamphetamine in the passenger seat, floorboard and center console plus baggies. Chlorissa Sartain was asked to step out of the patrol car and at that point another crystal rock was found where Sartain had been sitting in the patrol car. The crystals were tested positive to be methamphetamine…total weight of the crystals was 11.6 grams Chlorissa Sartain was then arrested for possession of schedule II narcotics. Curt Huff was not detained.
