Unicoi County Man Arrested For Trying To Kill Deputy

A man in Unicoi County is being charged with numerous crimes including trying to kill a Unicoi County deputy. According to authorities, 32 year old Allen Parker was intoxicated and assaulted a woman…family members of the victim removed Parker from that home but he went to another location and assaulted a second female victim. When deputies arrived, Parker immediately began fighting them…at one point gaining possession of one of the deputies’ knives. Parker than stabbed one of the deputies in the torso area, but thanks to the ballistic vest being worn by the deputy the blade did not penetrate. Parker continued to fight deputies, even biting one on the hand. Three deputies suffered minor injuries while trying to detain Parker who was flown to the Johnson City Medical Center but was expected to be moved to the Unicoi County Jail Wednesday night. Parker is being charged with attempted first degree murder, 2 counts of aggravated assault, aggravated burglary, 6 counts of assault and resisting arrest.
