French Theme Park Looking At Sevier County
Could a history oriented theme park be coming to Sevier County? Representatives with France’s second-most visited theme park are set to meet with developers of a 200-acre commercial site in Sevierville this month. That site is the development off exit 407 of Interstate 40 that is owned by the Eastern Bank of The Cherokee. The world’s largest convenience store…Buc-ee’s is being built on that site now. Representatives with Puy du Fou (pronounced Pway-do-Foo), a theme park in France are looking into bringing their French theme park to the United States and the Exit 407 site is a possible destination. Puay Du Foo is a theme park that consists of immersive, theatrical experiences that put visitors into history-inspired events like medieval battles and Viking conquests. With more than 2.3 million visitors in 2019, Puy du Fou trails only Disneyland Paris as France’s most visited theme park. Recently the theme park expanded to Spain and Shang-hai but are now looking at Sevier County for their next site.
