Bridge Connecting Holt Town Rd and Industrial Drive To Close

Some news for commuters who drive from Bybee to Newport every day and use Holt Town Road and Industrial Drive…you will be using a different route very soon. The Cocke County Highway Department has announced the closing of the bridge over the Pigeon River connecting Industrail Drive and Holt Town Road. The bridge will close for repairs on Wednesday March 16th at 7am and will remain closed till further notice.

Local traffic is being advised to use Bybee Road or Rankin Hill Road as an alternate route. Large and commercial vehicles are being asked to use State route 160 or US Highway 25E while repairs to the bridge are being made. The Highway Department says they will make the repairs in as timely a manner as possible, but weather may impact their timeline.
