Charlotte Man Arrested For Sevier County Murder

A Charlotte, North Carolina man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of his girlfriend at a cabin in Sevier County back in January. 26 year old Daekwon K. Dodd, of Charlotte N.C. was arrested this morning in Charlotte after a Sevier County Grand Jury returned an indictment for 2nd Degree Murder and Aggravated Assault Resulting in Death in connection with the homicide. Dodd was arrested by the United States Marshal’s Service on the indictment and is being held at the Charlotte/Mecklenburg jail pending an extradition hearing and transport back to Sevier County Jail.

You might recall that story…Sevier County authorities were called to a rental cabin located at 3238 Smoky Ridge Way on January 10th, 2022 in reference to a shooting. Officers arrived and found 28-year-old Tatina J. Buddington of Charlotte N.C. deceased inside the cabin suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers also found that Dodd had jumped from a 3rd story balcony of the cabin but survived and he was transported to U.T. Medical Center. Dodd was released several days later after being treated for his injuries sustained in the fall.
