Turkey To Blame For Brush Fire
Fire Crews in White Pine had to deal with a brush fire off Route 113 /Sunday. According to the White Pine fire department…a turkey flew into power lines yesterday afternoon and knocked one of the hot wires to the ground, catching grass on both sides of the roadway on fire. The live wire was draped across the roadway on route 113 near exit 424 of interstate 40. White Pine fire crews extinguished the flames quickly and Appalachian Electric worked to repair the power line and reopen the road. Route 113 was reopened to traffic by around 7pm Sunday evening. No word whether anyone had deep fried turkey for dinner last night.
That turkey now has an electric personality.
