Newport Man Arrested In Carson Springs Area For Selling Drugs
Cocke County deputies were called out to Carson Springs Road late last week in reference to a man slumped over in a white Chevrolet truck. Deputies found the man inside the locked truck slumped over the wheel. Deputies could not wake the man who appeared to be barely breathing. Deputy Josh Smith broke the rear passenger door of the truck to be able to gain access and unlock the truck. The man was 44 year old Joshua Moore of Newport who was finally brought back to consciousness. EMS arrived but Moore refused medical treatment. A search of Moore’s person found small baggies of methamphetamine that weighed a combined 3.07 ounces…another .37 grams of heroin was also found in Moore’s possession. Empty baggies and over $2,000 in cash was also found. Since Moore was intending to sell the drugs, he has been charged with possession with intent to sell schedule II narcotics.
