Reward Offered In Sevier County Double Homicide Case
A reward is now being offered for information on a double homicide that happened in Sevier County on December 24, 2021. 70 year old Edward Atkins & his 43 year old daughter Melissa Smith were found dead on Christmas Eve last year in their mobile home on US 25/70. Their bodies were found about 10pm that night. Both had been shot to death. The Sevier County Sheriff’s office has believed the killings were drug related. District Attorney General Jimmy Dunn has announced that his office in conjunction with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office and the TBI has offered the reward of $10,000 that has been issued by Governor Bill Lee. The reward will be available to the person or persons providing information leading to the apprehension, arrest, and conviction of any person or persons responsible for the killing of Atkins & Smith.
