Man In Clown Mask Forces Lockdown Of Hawkins Co. Courthouse
The Hawkins County courthouse had to be put on lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a man was seen walking around the courthouse wearing a clown mask and carrying a crossbow. When police arrived, the man was not to be found at the courthouse. However, he was spotted a short distance away stopping people and asking if they had drugs for sale or if they wanted to buy some. The man originally identified himself as Johnny Mallory with a social security number that does not exist. The man was later identified as Steve Davis of Rogersville who told police that the courthouse was possessed with demons and they needed to be killed. Davis was found to be in possession of a bag containing methamphetamine. Police say that Davis told them he had been up for several days, high on meth. Davis was charged with possession of methamphetamine, filing a false report and public intoxication. He also had a warrant for his arrest for probation violation.
