Woman Killed In Knoxville Shooting Was ETSU Employee
A woman killed in Knoxville on Thursday, May 18 has been identified as an employee at East Tennessee State University. On Friday, Knoxville police identified the victim as 48-year-old Chickenia Livingston. She was shot in the backyard of a home on Wilderness Road in East Knoxville. The shooter, 76-year-old John DeLoach then barricaded himself in the home. That led to a 3-hour standoff with police. Chickenia Livingston was found in the backyard and was pronounced dead after she was removed from the scene. Livingston worked in parking services at ETSU and had been employed there since 2017. The connection between Livingston and DeLoach has not been revealed. DeLoach is charged with first-degree murder.
