Traffic Stop Lands Woman In Jail
A Western North Carolina woman is in jail in Georgia after a routine traffic stop turned into a charge of trafficking drugs. Kerry Stratton of Leicester, North Carolina…about 60 miles from Newport…was stopped in Rabun County Georgia last week. With probable cause, police searched her vehicle and found 6 kilos of cocaine and 8 ounces of marijuana. The street value of the drugs…mainly the cocaine was estimated to be $183,000. Besides her traffic citations she is charged with Trafficking in Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. She is being held in Rabun County Georgia without bond.
