Body Found On Jefferson Co Road Identified

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office has released the identity of the body that was found on the side of Phillips Road, parallel to I-81 last week. The body is that of 45 year old Donald J. Cates of Kimberlin Heights Rd in Knoxville. Cates had been staying at a residence in the area but hadn’t been seen since Monday July 3rd. The body was found last Thursday afternoon July 6th. Investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine Cates’ cause of death. Anyone with information about that case is asked to call Detective Sergeant Richard Collins at the Jeffeson County Sheriff’s office.
